If the sale person did not tell me my computer is installed with a K6, then I will probably never know that a K6 is working in my PC. However, if I am a long term user of Win95, most likely I will continue to use Win98, and Win2000, because I have been with the application of the software , and I do not like to learn new application software with my valuable time if Window can serve my purpose pretty well. What I am trying to say here is People tend to be more loyal to the software than the CPUs. That is another thing which proved Microsoft and Intel's business models are different, and that is why Microsoft should have a higher PE and INTEL should not. RIGHT ON ED!!! I have been making this argument with friend for at least 2 1/2 trying to convince friends of the huge differences in these two companies. This applies to Windows/Office97 and other existing software -- and even new software. It is easy to learn new MSFT software once you are familiar with the common MSFT commands. BTW, I did not start out with 500k at the beginning of the year. If I had, I would have been considered insane to gamble it all. However I don't want to disclose how much cash I had at the beginning of 1998. I can tell you I made at least 50 times (the actual number is somewhat higher than 50 times)and so did my wife. I have to thank Bill Gates for it, although Intel and Dell did help a little. Before earnings, there were explosive moves in the stock and if you held way out of the money call options, you could have easily made 100 times your investment in one shot.--But it is very risky!!! Of course since I have made the money --- I am not willing to take these kinds of risks again with all my money. I will only try it with about 10% because I don't want to give up what i made this year. If I lose the 10%, it is no big deal because I did not have it at the beginning of year anyways. I would not recommend this strategy to anyone with their hard earned money. I am a long way from retirement and can afford to take a few gambles. I have a very high risk tolerance.
