And I bet you got 6 answers. :)

I've also had no luck getting a definite answer, but the consensus seems to be that TDFX and STBI are not "substantially the same investment". This term is normally interpreted as meaning equities and options are equivalent. I did reduce my total investment in the combined companies just to insure some tax savings. With the expected weak first quarter I plan on being able to wash the rest.
