This story was mildly embarrassing, but I don't really see why it was newsworthy. It's no different than what every hype-dependent company (that is, all high-tech companies and most companies in general) does every day.

This is good news! They hadn't done this in the past, except
letting the products speak for themselves. In the battle for
mindshare (against the evil one) they have to do this.

Atleast they are thinking like MicroSlop.
