Zybslaw --

The information about the failure of Ascend's DS3 CFR card surfaced early in December. I have three sources who've verified the seriousness of the problem and they all concur NN's been able to revisit the BA contract as a result. I've been told the chips will have to be debugged once ASND gets them and when that's done, they'll have to be put into tests/trials. According to my source no RBOC will deploy a card that's not been through this process. He went so far as to say, "Don't rule out March 2000."

MrFun asked his Ascend sources and they confirmed the chips were bottlenecked (I believe this was his term) until March. He assumes that's when they'll be available to ship, so our stories diverge at this point.

If you want to discuss this further, email me and I'll give you my phone number.

Incidentally, I wasn't the first to mention the problem on the thread but I did pursue it once it was. And even now, I wouldn't continue the discussion if it weren't for MrFun's not so subtle put-downs of NN. The truth is far different and I do believe the truth will out.

Call me stubborn, but it's based on having done my homework.

Happy New Years!!
