Well it really does not matter until the 2 companies seperate. If you sell your PSFT shares today, You also sell the IPO shares as well. They both travel together untill the split when you can sell either one and keep the other. Other wise you will see all these day traders buying and then selling to just get the IPO shares without any cost to them. With dividents I think the shares reflect the price the next day by opening lower.

Much better bet might be the MALL split. If and when its comming. Even now its trading at a BIG discount, in fact I havent seen such a wide spread ever.
