The Schlotzsky's around here are OK (my wife likes them, I don't), but there is never much traffic, and they built these expensive, stand-alone buildings.

Interesting. I just had one here (Dallas) several days ago, and it was as good as it always is. Traffic through the restaurant was excellent too.

Of course, this is in Texas, which has always been Schlotzsky's stronghold. I actually live in the Bay Area in California, and all of the Schlotzsky's there (I knew of three or four) closed down a year or so ago. I blame that on the franchisee(s) more than I blame it on Schlotzsky's, but I'd love to know what happened there, and why no new franchisees have been signed up for my area. The one in San Jose that I used to eat at always seemed to do a good (if not incredible) business.
