initially it might decrease margins, but the point is that they don't have to reduce margins to the point where they are the lowest cost provider.

I know the argument is coming that they lose money on every book sold so margins can't be reduced any further. Amazon zombies would argue it is only true because they are currently spending all their "profits" growing the biz. Not sure if I believe it, but if it weren't true, then why are all these competitors springing up? They all think its a great idea to lose money?
