OK, I will remember that about accepting the orders at the ask. The NASDAQ used regularly to fail to honor limit orders even when there were executions below the limit on the purchase. But once or twice I got very good executions when selling that got me more money than I asked. I never imagined that anyone was in the business as a charitable occupation, but it seems a little slippery work around an honest bid as you have described.
