JohnG Really? You did not box earlier and unbox - selling the warrant at $17. Remember the day...(when it hit $24 briefly).

I left money on the table. Sold short the warrant at $17, covered at 7 +....

I'm wondering if anyone who is tax literate knows whether capital gains from stocks sold today are taxable in 1998 (sale date) or 1999 (settlement date)? One theory on the internuts is that people with huge unrealized gains will start dumping them in the new tax year. Could it be starting now?
