Ah Ha, now that makes much more since...I was grilling my local Spes's buyer as to why I could not get pricing on a 95 Yquem and he said that It had not yet been bottled...

That 88 will be drinking well in 2002 or 2008, though to be honest I'd have a very hard time waiting for 2008...

Very nice wines to recieve as gifts!!!!!Though I think I'm getting a 37 Port for my Birthday this evening...What a way to ring in the New Years!!!

Happy New Year to Everyone and many more good Wines

Oh Lord, can I borrow your friends ? If you want to experience sauternes/barsac without breaking into the great one, try Raymond Laffond or Rieussec. Send a friend to get it in case you die of fright when you see what the 95's are selling for.

Evening CG, In looking back through interesting wines, I find in my tasting notes that a 1986 Late Harvest Semillon by Chalk Hill is described by all in a blind tasting as being a Yquem...or very close, color is a little off but if you can find any...It's wonderful and drinking well now!!!

We still have 6 bottles from the 2 cases we purchased 3 years ago...shame that we drank so many, as they are getting better and better with age :-)

Just a thought to get you into fine desert wines...

Happy New Years

Looking at the bottle again, it's an 88, I was wrong. We also received a 95 lafite, and that's why I was confused...

Really .... ?

Why would anyone give you such fine gifts ? when you have no idea of these labels, or even the color of the wine ?

Hmmm...... Have you tried a Cannabis 1998 ? or a Snake oil 1999 ?

Whatever...
