Hi Laura, glad to see you here! My general thinking about AOL is that the real potential is as a virtual shopping mall. In fact, I'm looking at this company as a virtual COSTCO. While it is certainly nice to have membership fees (unlike Yahoo!), it is also nice to be able to rent out space like a shopping mall. Plus, I think that the combination with Netscape will provide a credible challenge to MSFT.

My concern with this company is that I haven't a clue as to parameters to use in developing an order of magnitude valuation model. What is virtual real estate worth? What kind of cash flow can we expect as the concept (if not the company) matures? This is really uncharted territory.
