Vanessa, in particular, was very proper. One day we Americans and the Brits were discussing the fact that Nancy Regan was not going to curtsy to the Queen. Vanessa was soooo offended. "The Canadians curtsy to the Queen; the Austrailians curtsy to the Queen! Why shouldn't you Americans curtsy to the Queen?" My American colleague responded "Vanessa, we Americans fought and won a war with you bloody Brits so that we would never have to curtsy to the queen again." Venessa responded "Oh! Quite right!"
