I had some French in high school, oh so long ago, but could only make out about a third of what you wrote (I never was any good at it). babelfish.altavista.com didn't have any trouble though: "I would give a dollar for that!" "I would buy that for a dollar!" Which to choose? Which to choose? "to give", if generous. "to buy", very commercial. Thank you very much!
