SAN DIEGO, Dec. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Wireless communications carrier Leap
Wireless International, Inc. (NASDAQ:LWIN) today announced that it expects to
file in a timely manner its response to the comments and opposition received
by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regarding Leap's pending
acquisition of wireless licenses in North and South Carolina from AirGate
Wireless, L.L.C. The comments challenge Leap's status as a "designated
entity," which entities small businesses to preferential pricing and payment
terms when acquiring PCS frequency in the C and F blocks.
Leap strongly believes that it meets all the FCC requirements to obtain
approval of the license transfer and will support its conclusion in its
response.
