Hi John,

Quotes Plus stores the data for all stocks on your hard disk in its own database format. It has its own QP downloader built in.

You then export the data into Metastock directories either one at a time or via a list of symbols. You can create this list yourself or as an output of a QP scan.

I only keep about 60 stocks permanently in one Metastock directory and will output into another Metastock directory the results of any scans. Some people would maintain many more stocks in multiple permanent directories.

For example, you might scan for stocks with stochastics crossing above 20 that have prices greater than $10 and volume is greater than average daily volume and also trade more than 100,000 shares per day. QP outputs this as a list (might be 30 stocks) which you can then export to your 'daily' Metastock directory. You can repeat this for as many scans as you want and use more than one daily directory as you wish.

QP will also automatically update any Metastock directories that you specify from its database as part of the daily procedure.

I believe the maximum that QP will update/export to in any metastock directory is 255.

Happy New Year ... Heading downstairs now. < g >
