OFF TOPIC/re Janus Global Life Sciences

yeah, I saw that too, called for the
perspectus and forms. Here is a funny
story...around ten years ago when I first got
a job I was making only about 15k a year...
but I lived in a small town in Nevada and
had no way to spend my money. The dow was
around 3000 if I remember right, and I had
all my forms ready to send in to Janus to
start investing.

This would have been after the mini crash--
a year or two after the October 87 crash.
Anyway, I had a check written out and everything
and for some reason I decided I was too poor to
start investing...so I transfered the cash
to savings and didn't start an ira until several
years later.

whoops.

(fyi I am not some nut who stays online on
New Year's Eve...I snuck this post in from work,
where I am stuck this holiday)

Larry:

When I learned about the Science paper, I bought a bit more before the close at 1 3/4.

>>BTW, I had an extremely interesting talk with the ARIA CFO today. Had I not a
slug of stock/warrants I would have bought more at $1 1/2.<<

A bottomless convertible in a company with the scienctific foresight of ARIA? By any measure, LaMarche has been one of biotech's worst performing managers. Perhaps he's been good but handcuffed, as the ultimate responsibility lies with Berger. In any event, their combined score is a one on a scale of one to ten.

>>Here's to the renaissance of biotechs in '99!!!!<<

The value assigned to innovation at this time is absurdly low. It should come in '99, but we will profit handsomely from mucking down here in the second- and third-tiers.

>>They're starting a new
fund to be known as "Global Life Sciences"<<

Hurray! More, more!

Thanks!

Rick

Larry: I saw the Janus Report too, and felt the same as you did when I read it. Do you know of any other fund families that will be initiating biotech/life sciences funds this year? TIA.
