Do you have a wood fire? We don't. The house I want to buy does, hope we buy it . . . . it's on an acre, and my husband thinks that's too much to take care of. We were looking at riding mowers yesterday, about $1,500. For some reason, that seemed to make my husband determined not to get the house, and I am keeping quiet for now.

Yesterday we saw Roger, our next door neighbor, putting all his carefully tended firewood in the back of his pickup truck. His wife made him get a gas fire. Too bad. That was the last wood fire in this neighborhood (not terribly upscale). I will miss getting Roger's wood smoke in my hair when I go for walks, I used to love the smell of wood smoke in my hair as I drifted off to sleep . . . .
