**OT**<Don up late at night> Hi Don! and of course, Happy 1999! It is 1 A.M. here, and just came back from a swinging church service, in downtown Oakland! Saw the GOOD part, of being part of an urban scene!! This is my first year having tried this; at the last minute, a stranger (who I met in the lobby of Oakland Schwab) invited me. Anyway, are you typically up at these hours? Wow! ...arthur... and now I'm studying your post. I have to wonder who in the world does your taxes!!! I can't even imagine the job you must have, even setting it up for the tax person. But then I'm sure you have everything set up for this. Do your tax compatible records get generated by a certain software package? Talk to you soon!!

Good morning Don:

I have made some dumb move (in retrospect) as well.

On Dec 17 when DELL was not moving at all (around 64+), I sold Jan 70 CC on some of Dell shares at 2 1/8. Since then DELL moved upward about 14%. Just like your CKFR, I do not want to lose my shares. I was pondering of buying back at a loss, or buy DELL if it dips to 69 and deliver them if called. I do expect Dell will be strong in mid February before earnings announcement. Should I sell straddle?

One thing that my boss once told me: "Although hindsight the decision made is wrong, it was not wrong when it was made. A dumb decision is a decision that you know is wrong, but you make it anyway, e.g. running through a red traffic light"

Regards
