RE: Chat - JMAR

Well, there are a few things different than three years ago ...

Revenue has grown from 12 mil to about 22 mil and management seems comfortable with 30 to 40 mil in 1999.

Fabless semiconductor business has turned around in last year and will contribute significant revenue and be profitable for the first time.

Introduction of their new Brightlight lasers WILL occur this year, possibly even this month. This has been delayed, which may contribute to your perception that nothing has changed, but the fact is that they have been working on their technology for those 3 years and will benefit from that soon.

It is possible that the stock will dip to 1 1/2 again (probally not as low as 1 1/4) and if you are looking for a short term trade it would certainly be a good idea to buy there.

BUT, if you are willing to dig a little deeper, do some research of your own and hold a promising stock with little downside risk for 1-2 years in order to realize a %100 to %500 or more gain, then JMAR is worth looking into.

Happy '99

Hi Sam, JMAR is a totally different company to the one that you were in 3 years ago. They now have a profitable Semiconductor division, introduction of Brightlight will occur in at least one tradeshow in the January-February period, and the XRL x-ray lithography equipment should be introduced in 1999. I think JMAR has seen its lows already and has just undergone some tax loss selling. Nobody can give you perfect predictions of prices, but I think that JMAR should be in the $6-8 area sometime in 1999 from its current $2 price and $15-20 in 2000. This is based on its three emerging businesses contributing in 1999 and 2000. (Semiconductor, XRL, and Brightlight). And don't forget that JMAR 3 years ago was not awarded a $13 million contract from DARPA specifically for XRL (and brightlight). That is a huge amount of money for a company with a $40 million market cap. Have you seen JMAR's video tape? Its available from the company and also available at their web site as a REAL VIDEO.

Good Luck in 1999
