Blue, HWP Does Bark, but GTW just gives woofs, and someday it will purr again - not now but when next ('99, betcha) they announce a split! Gave me a mighty quick doubler from 27 to high 50's, when I bought after their last split, then sold at the first CA-CHING. Will always have a soft spot in my heart for GTW, I must admit - 1) my pet puter "Lil Gray" is Gateway and a fine machine 'tis! (as just a year ago I was pacing and housecleaning like a speed demon in terror of it's imminent delivery & an internet takeover of our living room; virtual tech illiterate that I was) 2) Gateway gave me a super deal when I bought a puter & aol subscription as a donation to my dear aunt's retirement home, when they knew it was my second puter buy and the purpose was for old folk's internet recreation 3) Gateway was really the start of My Own Techride; (I'd had previous tech doublers with AAPL but didn't reinvest it - blew it all on a vacation to Sea World which I am sure you will agree was the luckiest start of all for my tech/net/spec sector!) my tech portfolio has gone much farther than if I'd held onto Gateway past the spring; and Gateway was The Seed. You and I both had our disappointments with The Gateway Company, Blue - and we both sold at those times and took the profits instead of letting the money lay stagnant as it would have otherwise. But think of this - Gateway's Xmas puter sales have been off the wall again. And they now have opened "Gateway Country Stores"(one is close by here and it's NICE) which are fine showcases for their shipping and online sales, and offer some visibility, expertise, retail sales, accessories, & support. Not writeoff GTW forever, just for now. Wait and see the time to buy&sell GTW'll come again in '99, & I think the pattern of success with the investment will be the same as last time. Not too bad. Blue, pal, we're Spoiled.com !!! YES WE ARE !!! Joanie
