Even if it is effective for CFDS and Hep B if there is no patent, how will HEB make money?

What exactly is Ampligen? Is there a generic name for it? I tried to do a Medline search on Ampligen without success. The company's website says it is a type of interferon. Which interferon? Their website also states that they are involved with research on nucleic acid compounds, but that class does not describe interferons.

I had sent the company an email requesting information, but did not get a response. Not an encouraging sign.
