I was just observing that it was quite an opus for a first post.

I think that the view that you espouse is well represented on si. It certainly is well represented in some of the stock prices of internet issues.

I have a different view than you. I think that the internet is an important evolution in communications and has and will continue to greatly impact our lives and the way that we do business. However, I think the model for these stocks to be a seperate industry will be shortlived. If your business didn't have a copier, you would go buy one to compete. If you didn't have a telephone system, you would get one. The internet is indeed a revolution, but revolutions in the end, if successful, impact every business and everyone. The internet will become a tool of all business, not a seperate category of business.
