"Metastock can do anything Quotes Plus can do and much more. The problem is that there are about 10,000 stocks on US markets. The value of QP is to conveniently narrow the list before you use Metastock.

QP adjusts for splits, etc in its own database, but not in Metastock directories, so it is better to minimize the Metastock directories.
"

Metastock can not scan for funnymentals. And explorer handles scans at about 1/10 speed.

QP in latest version does adjusts for splits and etc in metastock format. It has always done it in virtual format.

MAs: there are about 7 MA formats in metastock. Everyone should plot them on a chart to see how they best react. Nearly all are more reponsive than simple. I prefer Time series or the 5.1 version of VAR. When one is aware of the interaction of the different MAs, you can make a choice on needs. Any MA can whipsaw in a congestion area. Those that vary based on volatility work best to avoid this type thing.

Build custom indicator for my VAR.
periods:=Input("periods",1,244,89);
