Oracle's Cooperative Application Initiative (CAI) Program Extends And Accelerates Business Solutions for the Enterprise PR Newswire - January 04, 1999 08:15 REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., Jan. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Oracle Corporation (Nasdaq: ORCL) today announced that its highly successful Cooperative Applications Initiative (CAI) program has delivered over 225 "best-in-class" solutions to the enterprise applications market. The CAI program provides tight integration of partners' vertical and horizontal applications with existing Oracle(R) Applications. CAI partner integration speeds implementation and extends the breadth of solutions for both intra- and inter-enterprise business functions to Oracle customers and prospects. CAI provides members with technical and marketing services to support the integration of their products with Oracle Applications and helps give customers a comprehensive set of best-in-class solutions to fit their business requirements. "Through CAI, Oracle extends the breadth of solutions available to our customers by delivering tight, well engineered pre-integration with Oracle products," said John Hall, Oracle's senior vice president of Worldwide Alliances. At the fall Oracle Applications Users Conference, Oracle presented Mincom, Inc. and Yantra Corporation with "CAI Partner Achievement Awards". The awards were given to Mincom Inc. and Yantra Corporation for their outstanding partnership commitment with Oracle. "Oracle CAI's Partner Achievement Award was based on several factors -- proven success of the CAI integration at customer sites, demonstrated commitment to common customers, proactive participation and contribution to the CAI program, and commitment to Oracle technology " said Hall. Yantra Corporation has proactively strengthened the entire CAI program through participation in API definition and validation and was the first CAI partner to achieve integration certification on both Release 10.7 and 11.0 within their business category. CAI partner, Yantra Corporation, comments, "Yantra is committed to helping customers reduce total cost of ownership of their software solutions. The pre-certified integration of WMS*Yantra with Oracle Applications has provided our shared customers and prospects with an effective means of mitigating risks and costs during the implementation process," said Devdutt Yellurkar, president and CEO of Yantra Corporation. Mincom Inc.'s CEO, David Merson, remarked, "This partnership is of tremendous value to Mincom and Oracle's joint customers, offering an integrated, best-of-breed solution. Mincom is delighted to be held in such high standing as an Oracle partner." "Oracle's CAI partners are playing a lead role with our Applications customers," said Hall. "We're particularly pleased that over 25 CAI partners have already adopted Release 11 and are ready to go to market with us." To qualify for the CAI program, a company must offer best-in-class vertical or horizontal applications that complement Oracle Applications and must agree to integrate their products with Oracle Applications. Once accepted into CAI, a member company works closely with Oracle to optimize the product integration and provide the resources needed to build and maintain the integration. Integrated solutions are then tested and reviewed by Oracle for approval. There are more than 180 partners in the CAI program. Established in March 1994, Oracle's highly successful Cooperative Applications Initiative (CAI) enables best-in-class application software vendors to develop and sell standard, integration bridge products, linking their solutions with Oracle Applications. CAI expands the Oracle-based enterprise applications solutions set and allows customers to choose complementary applications that best fit their specific needs. CAI delivers improved time to benefit customers by requiring partners to meet specific, high technical standards based on Internet computing. Nearly 180 vendors are active in CAI today with over 225 integrations currently available off the shelf.
