New Age is a term that has a very wide meaning these days. it is used in all sorts of ways with all sorts of connotations.

Right Mark and it's ALL man made thus the many connotations........ You or others will not have your answers only God. Where we differ is the importance of the Bible (Gods Word).....He would not leave us without direction the problem is instead of looking towards the focal point God and his word man has designed his own explanation and laws through many different sects of Religion. No religion totally conforms with Gods word (The Bible) some are on track better than others but many are lacking WHY? Because we as humans are imperfect and our freedom of choice as individuals leads us to believe what is comfortable for ourselves rather than what God deems as good. Why is it so important for you to worry about what God deems to do, with regards to punishment is that not an exhausting and fruitless debate. What he deems as punishment or otherwise is totally right unless of course your creation is of your own making and you have the power within yourself over death. You suggested that you believe in God but what troubles me is that your belief is based on what you wish God to be rather than what God wishes you to be. How God should or should not punish is irrelevant since the questioning is based on what God will or will not do and you nor this whole human race has no power over it. I think the major issue is to be critical of oneself and search for answers it will not come from within only through a personal relationship will it ever be attained........

This is not being critical of you Mark I know you are sincere but God Judges not us and questioning a Just Judgement by him is fruitless... I know he is a merciful and loving God and I will never question nor am even going close to questioning what he deems as appropriate or a just Judgement or punishment if any. Focus on a one on one with him rather than searching for answers by reading a thousand books with a thousand different connotations as you stated so well. Our spiritual souls are very complex and I am sure we have NO idea about it's complexity and why God went through a certain process so as to attain perfection when we die. The bottom line is we DO NOT have all the answers and many may look at his sons death as irrelevant sacrificing his life for sin it all seems so ungodly by many or mythical by some but than again can any really comprehend ones soul. What may seem as irrelevant or mythical to some may at some point realize that the ungodly purification process may indeed have huge meaning when ones spirit is directly in front of the Lord.............. And in closing questioning Gods deemed punishment is only a forefront of questioning his existence.
