Sears; Re > C. Mer Industries, owns 69.7%, or 3,269,270 shares.

That's the $64,000 , why..?
I don't know , but can speculate it's for control,
x makes widgets and does R&D Parent P , uses widgets, and gets
benefit of x's R&D, at a price they can set. If x sells widgets
to other companies P is also in control, and can maintain an
edge.
--------------
There is no way I can know if such is going on, you have done a
lot of good DD so far, normally I shy away from such situations,
until I hear of a spin off, Like T did with LU.
until then X is under the thumb of P.
---------------
However in this case the remainder of the stock floating just could
take the stock price up , and that would not trouble P at all,
( unless they were wanting more of it )
by why should they ? can call the shots as it is ?
you would need to do a lot of DD on P to figure this bird out,
why did they let the price fall so low to begin with ?
While they have not sold any, they sure could have supported
the price had they wanted to. Could they be ready to do so now ?
that's any bodies guess, I doubt they will telegraph it if they do.
I like what I see , but have reservations about the Parent company
having so much control.
