<you have approx a two to three week window to buy WSTL at a price that is absurd compared to other ADSL companies,>

Dr, thanks for the notes. It helps as Ive been wondering if I might get to grap a few down here. I wouldn't have the cash before then but the time frame will work just fine if the price stays here during such.

<WSTL will annouce a convertable perferred deal raising approx 50mil with a current alliance partner(data integrator), the only question is the convert strike...The company wants to wait till Bel dmt is confirmed so that the convert strike can be in the teens, this could all unfold in jan99.>

Fuj huh? Maybe Lu should ante up :} BTW, if the c p happens I just may have to retract "mgnt will never let us know what really happens here"

Happy new year to you as well,

Dug

So Dr

<The company wants to wait till Bel dmt is confirmed>

This would be a condition of the offering?

Dug

Doc, coupla questions:
1. How confident are you about BEL wanting WSTL? I realize they have a BEL person on their board - but it's been a while and WSTL hasn't one very much with BEL on this front - unless BEL is already only recommending WSTL in it's ADSL deployment. Your thoughts will be appreciated here?
2. Why do you think GTE would want to start working with WSTL again? I'm given to understand that WSTL was the exclusive when GTE started looking at and testing ADSL. However, after a few months, GTE brought others in adn started working with them - buddy of mine was on the project and brought WSTL to my attention. My question - why do you think GTE will want to get back in bed with WSTL in any significant manner?

Dr....When you wrote this WSTL was $5 1/4...<For those who have not really taken a real position in ADSL you have approx a two to three week window to buy WSTL at a price that is absurd compared to other ADSL companies, for others that have been slammed it is close to the time that proves you indeed have not been a fool>

Not only have I been "SLAMMED", but I am still feeling "Fool"ish...Especially with the recent IPO's of TUTS and even COVD.

We have gone from $5 1/4 to bearly $6 1/2... Not very positive to say the least...

<wait till Bel dmt is confirmed>

WSTL losing DSLAM contract to ALA and only getting CPE's is going to be positive??? How's that???

I remember when US Robotics was trading around $10 and within a year it was $120+ before 3COM bought them...SO I guess WSTL can follow suit by selling modems to the retail??? However, I always thought WSTL did NOT want to be in the modem retail business but rather the DSLAM to CO's???

<The Slc-2000 is really needed and when the product is ready look for LU to start releasing wins>

I hope so because I heard that LU has NO customers interested in the 5ESS WSTL product????...There has been NO interest and NOBODY wants it????

<this could all unfold in jan99> Was that Jan 99 or Jan 2000.

We'll call me a sucker but we need some more Dr. Tech HYPE!!!

Discouraged and LET DOWN ONCE AGAIN!!!

By the way, as time goes on we are going to lose out to the cable co.'s in the office buildings too (our only savior)...On my way out of the office today, the property manager told me that they were going to be bringing cable in to the building...oh well...
