i frequently hear people say various different. it'd be fine if i never heard that again.

another incorrect usage i hear a lot is 360 instead of 180 degrees in reference to someone turning around. i've heard baseball announcers do this. here's how it goes...

"and there's a well-hit fly ball over the right fielder's head. he turns and runs to the warning track and makes the catch over his left shoulder, does a complete 360, and fires the ball towards home!"

and i always have to chuckle, cause if the guy really did a complete 360 degree turn while running away from the infield, he would have what? fired the ball at the outfield fence!!
