Can someone technical *Please* help me

I have the opportunity to trade while at work, but I work in a high-tech unix environment and have to get to the outside world
through a firewall. I *REALLY* really really want to get the
datek streamer to work, but alas it does not, the java applet
never even gets started. I desperately want to know how I can make
this work. Is there a specific port that has to be opened up on
the server software for this to occur? If so, exactly how can
this be done? By setting proxies in my browser prefs, or would I
have to see the sys admin? If ports have to be opened, would they
create any addl security breaches? Please help!!

Many thanks to any responses

sincerely Robert Cavaleri
