LOL! I was secretly relieved when mine started to read on their own. Now, if I could only get them to pick up after themselves.<g>

tippet:

Talking about kids, three years ago I had to buy my 5-year old a new computer because the edutainment software we were buying started only coming in CDs. The old 286/12 with a 5-1/4 floppy just wouldn't cut it anymore. We bought a cheap Pentium 75, and at the time he had the fastest PC in the house.

Well... just this past Christmas we are finding the the now 8-year old has interests in software that have minimum requirements for the PC at 100Mhz+, 3d graphics (MMX compatible, for example), and at least a 4x speed CD. His Pentium 75 has none of that.

My wife and I are now debating that we will have to break down and buy a new cheap computer for him in the next few months. Pisses me off!

I wonder if many others are having this dilemma?
