Actually, I think that on-line ordering has its uses. I just take offense when a company
will only give a 10% discount on an item that every other retailer, online or not, gives
50%. This is not the way for a retailer to build customer trust. This sort of arrogance
could lead to their loss of market share.

tonyt,

I agree it has its uses. The real service is convenience. Anytime one has more convenience, there is added cost. There is "No Free Lunch." The only way online commerce will be profitable will be when it costs more than brick and mortar shopping. The supplying firm is doing the fulfillment and having the product delivered to your door. There is a cost for this conveneience. One will find online commerce is not profitable because many firms are not charging a premium for the service. J.C. Penneys Catalogue supplies the same convenience and money can be saved by distributing it electronically. However, the catalogue cost of the product was the same as in the store and cost more with the shipping.

Lets see- Bezos is a former wall street hedge fund manager running the most overpriced equity in the history of wall street. What's one thing that could possibly help prevent the utter destruction of his house of cards on Jan 4?

Ah, yeah, a 3:1 split.

The only thing it does is gives me 3 times the number of puts. :)
