These are exerpts of posts #9821 and #9822:

Perceptive comments from Australia on America past and present.

I think this fits all of you socialist thinking people:

Ultimately, the outcome of this situation rests in the hands of the American people themselves. It is a watershed situation. Mr Clinton's support comes mainly from people who have become used to looking to the government first, whenever problems arise for them. And, from that attitude has come the core problem which besets, not just America, but the world today.

Defending the indefensible becomes harder to do the longer you do it. The Clinton partisans have a kneejerk emotional reaction on their side right now, but the Republicans have the facts on theirs. As time goes on, that emotional reaction will fade away, leaving only the facts.

I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised if every one of your predictions is wrong. And if Clinton is removed from office the most vocal Clinton defenders will never get all of the egg washed off of their faces and there's a distinct possibility that the Republicans will actually gain seats. But I genuinely don't know what will happen, and I certainly know better than to pretend otherwise.

Only frauds and fools make predictions.

And, as a personal note; please don't sully the word "logical" by using it in this context. Logic is a beautiful and pristine thing that I haven't seen you use yet.

So far, the ironic thing is that the Republicans are ones that are losing their leaers (Gingrich and Livingston) and losing seats b/c of the Clinton scandal.

If the scandal didn't happen, it is very well possible the Republicans would of gained seats in the house and Newt would still be Speaker.

Weird world, no?

1999 PREDICTION

Clinton will go to trial in the Senate. He will resign after Jan 20. This will let Gore complete this current term of office and run for 2 more terms after that.
