Of course you never know with all of this internet mania but I myself wouldn't buy peapod. I just don't think their model allows them to grow fast enough. Do they still run their own delivery trucks? If they have to build infrastructure in each market they enter I think a company such as netgrocer or perhaps walmart or safeway (or buy.com) could crush them quickly. I guess the single advantage is that it allows the delivery of fresh produce. However, I think it would be possible for netgrocer et al to partner with local companies (or cybermeals) to add the fresh delivery (or ready to eat meal) capability. We'll see - but I feel confident someone will get it right AND SOON!
