Several of the long-time guests on Wall Street Week tonight recommended Cisco as a stock to own in 1999. The basic consensus seems to be that in a slow growth economy, the big caps who have shown the ability to continue earnings growth should be owned, even though the PE is very high. Another opined that the internet is comparable to the invention of the light bulb, creation of a whole new industry.
