Great article Michael. For proof of the correctness of this hypothesis just read any post by Dipy, Harris or Schuh. JLA

Michael, Thank you for the article. This takes my concept of intelligent+ignorant=elitist=liberal and fleshes it out to an extent that I never could (which is why I am merely an amateur wordsmith).

>>Most liberals not only believe that they have the correct solutions to society's problems but that they have a monopoly on compassion. They truly seem to believe that only greed and heartlessness drive conservative ideology.

I just saw Rose demonstrate this thinking the other day on the "Insult to all voters" thread.

>>In fact, the great paradox of modern liberalism is that it harbors an outright antipathy towards conservatism and the Christian right, ostensibly because of their moralistic fervor, yet tacitly asserts its own moral superiority over conservatism.

This is actually the one thing that I see the liberals indulge themselves in more than anything else on these threads.

Again, thank you.

"Pride goes before destruction; a haughty spirit before a fall." The 105th Congress will remember this in 2000...when it's too late.
