I am sold on an Israeli chip company Tower Semiconductor (TSEMF). The stock was as high as $23 last year when they decided to switch from a mostly foundry ASICs business to having propriatory products. Now they own a stake in a venture with another leading edge Israeli chip firm, Saifun, where they have developed a product called "Micro-Flash" said to be a revolutionary way to make tiny flash cells ...smaller and cheaper than anything available up to now.

Tower sells for $9.50 or so ..has $5 or $6 cash per share and there is almost no debt. I believe they originally were a National Semi spin-off and they do foundry work for Motorola. Most recent years but not in 1998 they paid a $1 per share dividend ... lots of cash and a very strong balance sheet. My guess is that Tower goes back to $23 or more soon.
