one of the shriller liberals on these threads, It is you all here that have branded me a liberal. I am conservative on fiscal matters, probably more so than most republicans here. The problem with you republicans is you latched onto the religious right and a moral agenda which is diametrically opposed to the philosophies of republican leaders in the past from what I can see (Goldwater, etc). You have driven away huge number of highly intelligent people with this addiction to the Bible - it is well known that the scientific elite question God, or what peoples' perception of God is. I dont see how any woman that wants anything more out of life than motherhood could ever support a republican. In short, you have alienated yourselves into a small group of angry white males that use the Bible as some sort of sanctimonious lifestyle doctrine. Everybody else is a "liberal". To me, this seems like political suicide but we will have to see in 2000.
