Larry, you're not nuts. I can't believe it either. But then, what
can we expect when the media talks about 1999 being the "last
year of the millenium"? Maybe we'll get a 99-year century next?

Larry,

I understand your bewilderment. But I'm not at all surprised at all by Clinton's popularity...

1.) The House simply did not do the will of the American people in voting articles of impeachment

2.) Everything else being equal, it's only natural, I think, for people to root for an underdog. And Clinton is perceived to be the underdog - - the victim of vicious attacks for his all-too-human frailties. Frailties most ordinary people can identify with. Therefore, the more vigorously he is attacked as an underdog, the more popular he will become.

It's a sad, but fascinating situation.
