<You and I can zip in and buy our 1000 shares, make a 1/2-1 point and be gone with $500/1000. Do that 2/3/4 times a week and we make a very nice living, thank you very much.>

I suppose that is an interesting way to make a living but I don't get in and out, rather, I like to hold a lot longer. I think that explains my sympathetic feelings towards the big guys because I prefer their type of investing to yours. A point to remember is that the big guys aren't trading with their personal funds in most cases but rather the accumulated monies of lots of little guys.

As for LTCM, they did crash the plane but bailed out and are on the ground preparing for another flight. That is my point, they gambled, lost and then the casino reimbursed the losses. Maybe they KNEW there was NO DOWNSIDE RISK. Talk about being informed?

<I didn't say we are smarter than they are.>

Nor did I. I simply said that you shouldn't think you have outsmarted the big guys.
