But don't forget B&N bought 3-4 book suppliers/publishers, like Penguin Books. Doing this 'was' supposed to hurt Amazon. Actually, the Initial report 6 weeks ago (or so) was that 'B&N buys largest suppliers of books to Amazon'.....

BUFFETOLOGY IS NOT ABOUT LOOKING FOR BRAND NAMES What is it about?
Your passing on AOL years ago speaks volumes. Here you had a great stock served to you on a plate and you didn't pick up your knife and fork and taste it. Why , not a long enough track record, too high priced.
but it was a business you understood and a fine company you admired.
I think your methodology needs modifying: lesser time to have a track record, a smaller or even no margin of safety in some instances when a company is outstanding, etc. examination of future projected earnings, etc. Don't you think some tweaking is in order? Or will you miss the next AOL too? Just a thought.
