4 to 5 years, to get comfortable. I had help from subscribing to newsletters written by Solid TA masters - Dahl and Coppock. I have changed and molded systems as the market and technology has changed. Going from trying to keep 30- 50 weekly charts up to date by hand, to RT and EOD on all stocks with instant charting. A rare day goes by that I don't read at least one article or chapter in a book, as well as look at 100+ charts. In this day of the net, someone reads one book, spends a few nights at it and they are ready to go on a lecture I am always looking for better systems. There is little art or magic in TA, it is very objective.
