Paul,
Great to hear from you. Your article on ADSL back in '95 became my bible and got me into investing in Amati -- and now the companies that are a part of that Amati technology. Many on this thread have been very disappointed with Westell over '98. For me, however, it was an opportunity to buy more at cheaper and cheaper prices. Westell has some great products, technological know-how and marketing affiliations in a technology that even the RBOCs with their archaic pricing structures will not be able to constrain any longer. I want to be there when the dam breaks.

Thank you Moses of ADSL,
Michael

P.S. Your post coming back-to-back with DR.TECH's new year visions is indeed prophetic.

Hi Paul, thanks for stopping by & sharing the info. Pretty amazing that this is your first visit here. Welcome! Many things have changed since 1996.

<Aware is riding on the DSL-Lite announcements coming out of Dell, CPQ and Intel.>

Among many others. ADI looks pretty savvy now days.

<No one here mentioned the article at Inter@ctive Investor a few days a go that cited WSTL as one of the stocks to buy and hold for 1999.>

Can't help but wonder if thats a common sense call or have they figured the "convertible preferred deal" Dr. Tech spoke of.

<It said that now that the Internet Stocks are ready to crash and burn it is time to buy the laggards that are about to start making news.>

Yeah, Ive read that in more than one place myself excluding SI.
Even Cnn TV this week spoke of this as well.

<Also -- late session buying on Thursday coincided with BELs announcement of AIRTouch acquire. Looks like people with a nose for news caught on that Westell is a great takeover candidate for BEL (or LU of course).>

Im not counting on it but I can speak from experience in that you gotta own It to capitalize if happens.

<but I've been watching DSL for years (wrote the very first post and article for SI about Amati in 1996)>

Hey, we will have to use you as an indicator. ggg Seriously, if you or Mike have the link handy now might be a good time to post it.

<and you guys need to watch what is happening a little more carefully.>

Paul, Ill be quite honest with you. While there is no way that I have the expertise, I couldn't possibly retain everything. Ive read every Wstl & Amati post & even some that are missing. Ive stopped watching Wstl as I don't feel I have the need any more. Besides theres still a pretty good amount of brainpower left on Wstl's thread here. Just not much positive to talk about. Even some of the folks who have taken huge losses still drop in w/ technical help. The only thing I watch for now is a competitive change & as I stated their have been more than a few. Pairgain's Dslam looks pretty good as a mild example. The rest is for pure enjoyment even though I get aggravated with Wstl's shenanigan's sometimes & thats only an opinion.

<I feel this stock could garner a lot of attention very soon, especially as a takeover candidate.>

I agree about the attention, maybe Awre will run to 50 :} & if a buyout happens then that wouldn't hurt me but probably some others.

<Maybe it's time to visit other boards and get the word out.>

I run a SI search from time to time & wstl is played when there is a technical break out but they always take profits as would I. Post um when you find em Paul & Ill assure you others will as well.

Dug

Paul: Welcome to the thread...your comments and experience are most welcome.

I can assure you that there is a wealth of informed posters here...trouble is its been a long, hard ride to the bottom for some of us who felt we had researched quite a find in WSTL.

It's been nice to hear some optimism from someone other than Dr. Tech.

Keep us updated.

Regards,

Dave

Article talks about 1998 tech laggard stocks that have potential in 1999...

"Westell, Premisys and Pairgain are stocks to buy and wait until a rumour drives shares up..."
