THE FIRST RESEARCH POST The following is a list of links to Jeff's and my favorite stock-related sites. The first two are our personal favorites. I recommend taking an hour or two and clicking on each link, reading through each site, and winnowing this list down to the sites that work for you.clearstation.com (simply choose a name and password and you get access to an enormous amount of stock information, as well as get the capability of establishing your own portfolios and watch lists)phactor.com (a wonderful source of links and information from one of the principals of MB Trading, the premier direct daytrading company)fool.com (the Motley Fool)cnbc.com (the online connection to a trader's favorite television station. If you have not done so, find your local station which carries CNBC and watch it. Their stock ticker is worth having access to during the trading day)thestreet.com (You must pay for a subscription, but this is a good site for getting the viewpoints of some popular financial figures. The great (and sometimes reviled) James Cramer lives here.)bigcharts.com (a good site for accessing charts of stocks you own or are considering buying.)stockrumors.com (This site lists rumors of stock buyouts, upgrades and downgrades, etc. Beware: these are rumors, not necessarily facts, but we know that many times a stock moves up or down significantly on rumor, so this is a good source for daytrading and position trading.)yahoo.com (Silicon Investor's cousin)investorsalley.com financialpicks.com wallstreetcity.com dailystocks.com foxmarketwire.com quote.com The following sites provide free real time quotes:freerealtime.com rtq.thomsoninvest.net The next research post will give detailed information on the kinds of facts to look for when doing due diligence (DD) on a stock.
