Aus, Jerome (hope you're still there) an all,

Well here we are. Its about a year and a half since I first saw Eli on CNBC, summer of 97. Then the stock was over $30 and I thought that I believed in investing!!!

Well I'm still a believer in SND and maybe this year will be SNDK's breakthrough year. BTW I don't subscribe to the worrst case scenarios in the 10k. Firstly they have to include that kind of caution but secondly surely they wouldn't all be wasting their time and their lives if this was a dead duck.

Then there is the question of R&D. Something we haven't really focused on recently. I mean at least the company is profitable and that is after a quite a lot of good R&D. Now they've done the CF and the MMC and they are fo course working on 'more for less'. But I would be surprised if that was all they were working on. It's been a little quiet on that recently and it isn't as if the company is short of great creative and iventive engineers.

Then there were all those joint ventures and design ins that were announces late 97 and early 98. Surely some of those will start to produce soon.

Then there is our new friend the Rio. Apparently the big record companies and the music business is in a state of panic regarding the internet in general and this new product could really upset their plans. Very difficult situation fro them really since they wouuld love to restrict or censor or stop certain activities on the Internet but these are the very same people that have screemed blue muurder every time any of their activities were threatened with any form of restriction in the past. Poor old music business they and their artistes havelived off the fat of the land for years and now they've got a real problem.

Anyway it just seem to me that for SNDK the year offer great opportunity and so HNY to all and to Eli and the team.

Regards,

L

Tim,

Personally I wish that BestBuy would have a more extensive collection of digital cameras with CF. They are big on the Mavica and Olympus/Fuji models sporting SmartMedia.

The next swell in digital camera sales will come when all of those individuals who bought them over Christmas start sending e-mails with vivid digital photographs and letters extolling the ease, convenience and unbelievable resolution of this technology. Then all the Mavica fanatics will realize that 640 x 480 or even 1024x768 resolution just doesn't cut the mustard. Thereafter, the second generation of digital SLR cameras will hit the market and spark the interest of those who have passed on the point-and-shoot models offered to date.

I agree, anything left in stores after Christmas will be sold off or given away to make room for the next generation of cameras. It is sort of like trying to sell a PC with a 486 processor after the Pentium powered PC's hit the shelves.
