Purely in the interest of tooting my own horn ;-)

My picks for 1999 are the same ten as 1998 (as listed on my profile and haven't changed
since day 1)

For 1998 they performed:

PFE +67%
SGP +77%
MYG +73%
GNTX +50%
MSFT +114%
DELL +248%
AOL +585%
LU +174%
MDT +48%
FNM +26%

This portfolio is up 146% !!!! for the year and is the exact same 'core holding' portfolio to
have for 1999. If I had to make one pick it would be AOL. I would also consider adding
CSCO.

Hello Preston,

Happy New Year to you and your family.

>>Maybe it's time to look closely at these 30 as everyone
knows the names and the money flows in vast amounts...<<

That my friend is exactly what I do. You might recall that some time back I started a little thing I titled Chartn the Dow -- or something like that. I would occasionally put up a Dow stock with a few trend lines to see if it would generate some discussion. I didn't get much response so I stopped.

The first 30 stocks I started hand charting were the Dow 30. They are also some very easy stocks to trade in and out of and make a dollar or two.

Perhpas I'll start reposting interesting Dow stocks with appropriate trend lines. If it generates some discussion -- we'll see what happens.

Take care,

Eric
