' On the subject of bank runs, Karen Gibbs admitted she is already stashing away cash, a little at a time, withdrawn from the bank! First time I have heard anyone admit that on television.... especially from a co-anchor.....

Exactly--merely throwing money at a problem is shortsighted at best.

It had been circulated among more progressive circles that the focus on Clinton's problems allowed the conservative elements in congress to stall the enactment of legislation creating or extending programs to care for children, the homeless, and the elderly (at least the elderly Kevorkian didn't get to yet). Republicans were accused of letting children go hungry just to get Clinton (who got himself in my opinion). It was satire on my part of course.

"Ex: The last report I heard DC spends some $9,000 per child, yet
reflects some of the least results in national test scores."

Send them to any Catholic school and they'll better their education for far, far less.
