James, with the Y2K just around the corner, wine stocks will probably soar. I'm interested in finding a couple of good stocks to invest in, do you know any?

I hear Queen Elizabeth has already ordered her champagne for the celebration, along with quite a few other famous and well known people. The wine companies will be working overtime to keep up with the demand. In fact, anyone who doesn't have their orders in for the finer champagnes by now, will probably be out of luck..

Edwarda, if I'm out of line with this post, don't hesitate to ding me. This might be a subject for another thread..

There are three popular wine stocks on the market today. Chalone which has moved sideways or down for the past 6-7 years. Mondavi which zipped up last year and then dropped. Beringer was good as an IPO 1-2 years ago and I have not followed it recently. I prefer "liquid" stocks or investment wines like '95 Bordeaux futures, cult cabernets like Colgin, Harlan, Screaming Eagle, Turley Zins, etc. Even when the price is depressed you can still drown your sorrow in wonderful red nectar vs. stocks where you can get drowned in sea water. Anyone on the string ever sample the latter wine?
