"But wait, there's more!"

Nice post, ztect.

There's another point, too, especially for the benefit of those *new* to DBCC and this board. It has to do with the notion that DBCC isn't a "trade" but rather, a "keeper." And here's why:

At any reasonable market cap, DBCC is a terrific *acquisition* for a larger media or financial services company. Its basic business should be profitable in 1999 (I believe the FY99 consensus is about $0.41/share), and its post-IPO ownership of 38% of MKTW will keep DBCC highly visible.

We all know that financial and investment Web sites are hot. If you think about it, you can make the case that they're at the *top* of the food chain, *way* ahead of portals and shopping sites. Why? Because people's wealth now *depends* on them. Thus, they have suddenly morphed into the Internet's "killer app." (For those too young or too dizzy to remember, there's an irony here. DBCC came from the ashes of the firm that started it all--albeit too early--the old FNN.)

Barron's recently rated MarketWatch.com #2 among *all* financial Web sites (MSFT was #1 based on tools, not news or analysis). So who *wouldn't* want to buy DBCC and share with CBS ownership of a great Web property--and control a profitable and growing data services business to boot?

Hey, ZAP, for what you spent in '98 on press releases and "We Will Buy Your Web Site" ads, you could have grabbed DBCC! But hey, no thanks. DBCC plays in the major leagues...

The moral? Don't trade this stock, folks. For once, learn something from the pros: sit on it.
