Pretty excited about a phone call I just did to cancel my AOL account. I need the direct connect and didn't enjoy the slow start-up going through AOL's stuff. Love AOL stock though and make it a habit of tryin the new versions. So the new thing the lady on the phone told me was they are beta testing a direct connect....something akin to what microsoft was doing years ago when I first tried them.....now I will be on AOL in a second if they allow me to choose direct to the net or through them... Not only will they have a training ground for all the new people to the net...but a reason for me to move from sprynet to them....even worth a few dollars more if they want to say choose one or the other and a little bit more if you want both.

John it isn't worth your effort. Some people never figure out the truth because they were born knowing something and they will die knowing the same things -- facts be damned. The phrase "common knowledge" was coined to meet this contingency: something that everybody "knows" but is wrong. Well, Sam "knows". TTFN, CTC
