I do need a faster machine to prevent the occasional quote freezes.

No you don't. A faster more reliable internet connection maybe but I doubt seriously you need a faster CPU.

I see you have ISDN. What leads you to beleive your CPU is the problem. When you have outages, can you get a clean trace rt to your Data providers server. Who is your data provider?

NT 4 is wholly unnecessary (at this time).

I guess rebooting during trading hours is acceptable???

BTW: The Diamond 550 is faster than a Voodoo II in most every respect. Its the most revered card by gamers on the market today. I would GET the AGP version of this card for max performance. Are these cards suppported for MM installation under 98. Realize that not all cards are....

Building a perfect super computer is wholly unnecessary (at this time).

Rarely a good idea.

NT 4 is wholly unnecessary (at this time).

It is nice to have some company down here in the lower class<g>

It is very necessary that I play some of these great games!

I had to give them up..blink your eyes and it is two in the morning..well, let us know if you find one of those gotta have it games.

ya I am going over board on the ram. If it looks as though it never gets used i can toss it into the next box. I am not worried about it.

It makes sense to me.

Thanks ZP for the link to TJT they were very reasonable!

Credit goes to Dave Hanson. If my memory serves me correctly Dave also gets credit for Minotaur and for helping us with the 300A overclocking "Super Computers".

1 HDCooler Just Cooler for Hard Drive $19.00

I think the harddrive cooler is a good idea. There is more value in your harddrive than the CPU..also more devastating when it fails and harddrives do not like heat. You will find a use for a 14 GB drive five years from now when your CPU and RAM are history.

I also like removable harddrive bays.

Nice machine..keep us updated

Nice choices, funk. You've picked some top drawer vendors, too. FWIW, you should be able to get rebates on your viper 330s, if you're into that sort of thing.

Good luck,

Dave
